Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 15th, 2026

Estate Divvy LLC ("Estate Divvy," "we," "us," or "our") helps families create shared inventories of personal property, privately score preferences, and receive a proposed fair division of items. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information We Collect

We may collect account information, such as your name, email address, optional phone number, password authentication data, and profile details.

We may collect estate information, such as estate name, description, participant invitations, item names, room or category labels, estimated values, photos, and notes.

We may collect scoring information, including each participant's private item preferences and "don't want" selections.

We may collect payment information processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers.

We may collect communications information, such as emails we send or receive related to invitations, reminders, support, account activity, payments, and final results.

We may collect usage, advertising, and device information, such as pages viewed, feature usage, browser type, device type, IP address, approximate location, referring page, campaign source, ad click identifiers, cookie identifiers, and analytics or conversion events.

How We Use Information

We use information to create and manage accounts, let estate owners invite participants, build and organize estate inventories, allow participants to privately score items, calculate and display proposed final results, generate downloadable reports, process payments and refunds, send service emails, provide customer support, improve Estate Divvy, monitor reliability, prevent abuse, understand usage, measure advertising performance, and improve our marketing.

Private Scoring

Individual scoring information is intended to remain private. Final reports may show who receives which item, room or category, and estimated value, but they do not expose each participant's private preference points.

Service Providers

We use trusted third-party providers to operate Estate Divvy, including Supabase for authentication, database, and file storage; Vercel for hosting and deployment; Stripe for payments; Resend for email delivery; PostHog for product analytics; Google Ads, Google Analytics, or similar advertising tools for ad measurement and marketing; and Modal or similar compute providers for background result calculations. These providers may process personal information only as needed to provide their services to us.

Photos and Estate Content

Users may upload photos and descriptions of personal property. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload this content and for avoiding unnecessary sensitive information in item photos or descriptions.

Analytics

We use analytics tools to understand how people use Estate Divvy and improve the product. These tools may collect device, browser, and usage information. We do not use private scoring data for advertising.

Advertising and Conversion Tracking

We may use paid advertising platforms, including Google Ads, Google Analytics advertising features, remarketing tags, conversion tags, pixels, cookies, or similar technologies to understand whether our ads lead to meaningful actions on Estate Divvy.

Advertising and conversion events may include page visits, account creation, estate creation, item added, checkout started, payment completed, or other product events that help us measure advertising effectiveness. These events may be associated with cookie identifiers, ad click identifiers, device information, approximate location, or campaign information.

We may share limited information with advertising and analytics providers so they can perform ad measurement services on our behalf. Where legally required, we will obtain consent before using cookies or similar technologies for personalized advertising or remarketing.

We do not use private scoring data, item photos, item notes, estate descriptions, final allocations, or the content of family invitations to create advertising audiences or personalize ads.

If we use remarketing or similar audience features, people who visit Estate Divvy may later see Estate Divvy ads on Google or other websites and apps. Advertising providers may also use visits to Estate Divvy to help measure ad performance and prevent fraud or abuse.

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Estate Divvy may use cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to keep users signed in, maintain sessions, remember preferences, measure usage, measure ad performance, support remarketing where enabled, and improve security.

How We Share Information

We do not sell personal information for money. We may share information with participants in the same estate as needed to show estate details, inventory, participants, status, and final results; with service providers that help us operate Estate Divvy; with advertising and analytics providers for measurement, attribution, and marketing where permitted by law; if required by law, subpoena, court order, or legal process; to protect the rights, safety, and security of Estate Divvy, users, or others; or in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets.

Depending on where you live, some advertising or analytics activities may be considered "sharing" personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising or targeted advertising. You may contact us to ask about available choices.

Data Retention

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent fraud, and maintain business records. Users may request deletion of their account or estate data, subject to legal, security, and operational limits.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Estate Divvy is not intended for children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 18.

Your Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, or object to certain uses. To make a request, contact us at support@estatedivvy.com.

You can also manage some advertising and analytics choices through your browser settings, device settings, Google Ads settings, Google Analytics opt-out tools, or other third-party controls. Blocking cookies may affect some website functionality.
